This lakeside lodge is a charming Adirondack retreat. Built in the 1920’s at or near the water’s edge, these cabins have all been skillfully renovated to include king or queen-size feather beds, large stone fireplaces, sitting areas, pleasing to the eye rustic furniture and wet bars. All have lush bathrooms, with enormous soaking tubs and spacious separate showers. Gigantic picture windows expose out of this world lake and mountain vistas. Whether you visit in winter or summer, there is always something to do. Winter can have you participating in a dog sled ride, skiing or ice fishing. Summer provides opportunity for hiking, boating, playing gold, fishing, horseback riding or tennis. For the couples, you can take a canoe out to a private island for a leisurely day alone together.
For those who want to cozy up inside, the cabins offer working fireplaces, in-room modem links and a wet bar. The tubs are large and perfect for a nice long hot bubble bath.
While all the cabins are spectacular, one stands above the rest. Owl’s Head is a very special cabin. Set just a step or two from the edge of the lake, the cabin’s private porch is fringed by a small, tumbling brook. The room has a vast hand-crafted stone fireplace and a king-size feather bed shaped from a tree. In the vast bathroom, there is a two-person Jacuzzi jet tub, a dry sauna, and a six-headed steam shower. This spacious, one-room suite is the most luxurious and romantic.
Lake View Cottage
Lake View Cottage is a traditional bed and breakfast Inn located in the foothills of the White Mountains, between the Lakes Region and Mount Washington Valley, just south of Conway and North Conway. Here you can experience the romance of a getaway weekend with luxurious candlelight breakfasts and Jacuzzies in a number of the rooms. Silver Lake, New Hampshire offers beautiful sunsets.
Grandpa David’s Room has a king size bed canopy bed, antique period furniture including an oak armoire. From the sitting room you may step out onto the porch with a glorious view of the lake where you may enjoy being served breakfast weather permitting. The large bath includes a two person Jacuzzi , separate shower and reproduction fixtures.
Grandpa Earle’s Room, on the second floor, has a sitting room, a queen size bed, antique floral wallpaper in greens and rose with detailed painting of the woodwork and brass door hardware. The private bath has a corner Jacuzzi for two and a separate shower. This is the best view in the house where you can wake up to the crimson sunrise over the lake.
Helen’s Room, also on the second floor, sunny yellow was used for this bright room with windows on three sides. The wicker furniture and details contribute to the airy feeling of this queen size bedroom. A photo of Aunt Helen’s cat, Chippy, watches over you while you sleep. The large bath has a shower big enough for two including two shower heads and two seats!!
The Rose Room has a queen size sleigh bed with a view overlooking the lake and gardens. The reproduction wallpaper in this room matches the original. The brand new bath has a four foot jetted shower and reproduction fixtures.
The Lake View Cottage is truly a paradise for romantics or those who are romantic at heart.
